Violin video: Igor Ozim on Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto

In 2013 we are presenting a new video interview with a violin expert and performer every month.

This time a video interview with the violin maestro, Igor Ozim, on Mendelssohn’s masterpiece, in which he talks about his lifelong musical experience, the different ways he has approached learning and reworking the concerto, as well as the importance of one particular violinist for Mendelssohn while composing it. Enjoy listening to this great artist and much sought after teacher talk for five minutes about one of the best-loved violin concertos of all.

Watch the video - then you won’t have any difficulty answering our prize question. Three winners will be randomly selected from all the correct entries. Each winner will receive a copy of the Urtext edition of Mendelssohn's violin concerto (HN 720). The closing date for entries is 27th of May 2013. Employees, those affiliated with the publishers, editors and authors of G. Henle Publishers as well as their immediate families are not eligible to enter. Entry is limited to one per person. The prizes will be sent free of charge to the winners. No cash alternative is available in lieu of the stated prize. The competition is only open to people aged 18 or over. The judges' decision is final and legally binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
