Die jetzt erschienene Urtext-Edition im handlichen Studienformat basiert auf der Beethoven-Gesamtausgabe aus dem Jahre 1965. In dieser erschwinglichen Ausgabe bietet sie sich idealerweise als Bibliothekenergänzung an und sollte von Streichquartetten unbedingt näher unter die Lupe genommen werden, weil sich in ihnen die Grundzüge der Quartette deutlich vorzeichnen.
