With this rewarding “sampler,” beginners can enjoy a stimulating introduction to the standard canon of classical piano literature. The journey begins with little pieces by Daniel Gottlob Türk and compositions from Mozart’s early music books, then goes on to Clementi sonatinas, easy piano sonatas by Haydn, a few single pieces by Beethoven and dances by Schubert, to the first “romantic” works by Robert Schumann. Rounding off each volume are the helpful comments by the knowlegeable piano instructor Walter Georgii. They were selected in such a way that they do not exceed level 4 of difficulty.
