May 2025. Following the successful debut in Eutin last year, the G. Henle Chamber Music Academy has now taken place for the second time: from 21 to 24 May 2025, five young musicians – Helene Freytag (violin), Moë Dierstein (violin), Arcan Isenkul (viola), Fridolin Schöbi (viola) and Seungyeon Baik (violoncello) – gathered at Schloss Weissenstein in Pommersfelden, to make music together. Under the direction of cellist Sebastian Klinger, professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, they worked on chamber music pieces by Borodin, Mozart and Tchaikovsky.
The academy concluded with a concert held on 24 May 2025 in the magnificent Marble Hall of the palace. Felix Henle, Chairman of the Board of the Günter Henle Stiftung, commented on the high-profile event with the following words:
“We at Henle Publishers are thrilled by the high standard of the final concert, which Sebastian Klinger, together with the five young musicians, was able to attain in just a few days. We would like to thank him for his enormous commitment, the team of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben for the excellent organisation, and Paul Graf von Schönborn-Wiesentheid for his generous and warm hospitality.”
For Felix Henle, it is “… a matter very close to my heart to support talented young musicians in their further development in the best possible way”. In doing so, he continues the tradition of his grandfather and founder of the publishing house, Günter Henle, who supported outstanding musical talents of his time, including Edith Peinemann, Murray Perahia and Frank Peter Zimmermann, before they made a name for themselves on the world’s concert stages.
